Surfing may not be at the top of your mind for adaptive sports, but Para Surfing is my happy place and allowed for the capture of an unlikely self-portrait ... In 2018 I competed in the Hawaiian Adaptive Surfing Championships. I had the longest run of the day and ended up being so far out of bounds that I was in the middle of a surf school near the shore. My board had run across the top of a student, who pushed me off her board and I flipped over. The GoPro attached to the nose of my board caught it all.
